Elizabeth R. Griffin
Research Foundation Internship
The Elizabeth
R. Griffin Research Foundation offers an internship to an undergraduate
at Agnes Scott College each year. The intern works with Dr. Julia Hilliard
at the National B Virus Resource Center at Georgia State University. The
internship was formed in memory of Elizabeth R. Griffin to raise awareness
of zoonotic diseases and research safety.
The intern works in the National B Virus Resource Center, rotating through
a variety of essential tasks performed at the Center. The major goal of
the center is to identify zoonotic diseases transmitted from nonhuman
primates to humans, with particular emphasis of a virus which is normally
present in macaque monkeys.
