Identification of serum and or CSF (cerebral spinal fluid) B virus specific antibody in humans:

Human sera and/or CSF extracts are tested via a western blot (non-negative samples are confirmed by competition ELISA and recombinant Bvirus glycoprotein ELISA). Each serum sample is used for western blots with B virus, HSV-1, and HSV-2 and baseline serum is re-evaluated paired with convalescent or follow-up serum samples. All serum samples are maintained for future follow-up testing.
